ANTHEM – Arizona’s largest fresh-cut Christmas tree arrived at the Outlets in Anthem on October 24, making it the 18th consecutive year the outlets has welcomed the state’s biggest, fresh holiday tree.
The Outlets at Anthem will be holding a Tree Lighting Festival on November 16, from noon to 6 p.m., which includes a day of family-friendly holiday entertainment, including Santa’s Village, crafts, a petting zoo, vendors, an interactive light show and much more. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5 p.m.
After Santa Claus lights the Christmas tree, the Musical Theatre of Anthem and Diamond Dance Works will perform. Followed by Sound and Color, an interactive light show that is set to music, which will light up the Outlets at Anthem every night through Christmas Eve.
“Our tree will have a nightly light show! Lights strung on the tree and surrounding rooflines will be set to music creating a nine-minute animated light show. The tree will light up to music every night through Christmas Eve at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.,” stated a press release from the Outlets.
On Friday and Saturday evening the 6 p.m. light show will also feature dance performances by Toy Soldiers and Sugar Plum Fairies.
The arrival of the enormous 80-foot-tall and 20-foot-wide tree officially kicks of the holiday season in the local community. The tree was placed using an industrial crane and is always a popular event, drawing in crowds from across the Valley.
This year’s tree came from the California Oregon border, and more than 1.5 miles of LED lights will illuminate the tree, which is over 10,000 bulbs. Approximately 5,000 giant ornaments and bows will be used to decorate the tree, according to the Outlets at Anthem.
