Cave Creek Balloon Festival to celebrate red, white and blue Memorial Day weekend

CAVE CREEK –      The Ninth annual Cave Creek Balloon Festival is happening on May 26 at the Rancho Manana Golf Course’s driving range and will be celebrating red, white and blue for the Memorial Day weekend, including a firework show, food trucks and live bands.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and the Civil Air Patrol will have a color guard presentation followed by a flyover by the Deer Valley Composite Squadron 302.

Then Madison Holmes will perform the National Anthem, on the Sanderson’s Ford main stage followed by the Shari Rowe Band, which is headlining the event and takes the stage at 6:45 p.m. Low-profile lawn chairs are allowed at the main stage area.

The hot air balloons will begin to inflate around 7:30 p.m., and there are plenty of activities for kids to participate in. The event will feature a kid’s zone with free face painting and balloon twisting.

Adults can purchase local craft beer from Four Peaks Brewery as well as cocktails and wine. There will also be food trucks on site, and the balloon festival has gotten rid of its script system, so patrons can pay vendors directly instead of purchasing tickets.

The fireworks show will start at 9 p.m. with a patriotic celebration of red, white and blue and will start at 9 p.m.

There is no parking available at the driving range or Tonto Bar and Grill for the event. Parking will be available in downtown Cave Creek at 38406 N. Schoolhouse Road and is $10. Parking includes a complimentary shuttle service to and from the event. Parking proceeds will to the Civil Air Patrol.

Pre-purchased tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for kids under the age of 12 and children 2 and under are free.

Veterans and active military personnel will receive a general admission ticket for half off with identification the day of the event.

VIP tickets are available, which includes a gourmet buffet from Tonto Bar and Grill a private cash bar, private restrooms and VIP tickets must by purchases by May 25.
