Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary opening a resale boutique to benefit senior dogs

ANTHEM – Soon local residents will be able to shop for a cause at Anthem’s newest retail store, Rusty’s Resale Boutique.  All proceeds from the boutique will go directly towards providing care for senior dogs at Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary, a non-profit organization based out of New River that is dedicated to rescuing and caring for senior and special needs dogs.

“One hundred percent of the proceeds from Rusty’s Resale will go directly to helping provide the daily care for our senior dogs,” Emilee Spear, the founder and director of Rusty’s Angels stated in an email to The Foothills Focus on September 23. “This store is also just another way that people can support us.”

Rusty’s Resale Boutique is inviting the community to its grand opening on Saturday, October 5, at 42407 N. Vision Way, Suite 107 beginning at 9 a.m. The store is a non-consignment, volunteer-based thrift shop, selling clothing housewares, accessories, jewelry, home décor, artwork, books and more.

“Anything we can’t sell, we will pay it forward to Big Brothers Big Sisters,” Spear said.  “There are many ways you can support; by donating your new or gently used items, shopping at our store or volunteering your time.”

Attendees at the grand opening party will be able to shop the store’s recently acquired merchandise, while participating in raffles and visiting with Rusty’s Angels’ senior dogs that are looking for a home.  There will also be snacks and drinks.

Along with raising much needed funds to operate the dog sanctuary, the boutique will also raise awareness and help find forever homes for adoptable senior dogs.

“Not only will the store help our Sanctuary, but it is also a way for us to help our local communities like Anthem, New River and Desert Hills, who have supported us from day one. “Not only will Rusty’s Resale be a great place to shop but it will also be a regular place for us to hold adoption events helping our adoptable seniors find their new forever homes.”

The store will also help support the mission of Rusty’s Angels, which is providing a safe and caring environment for senior and special needs canines through rescue, foster, adoption, education and hospice.
