Former Peoria Councilmember Leone’s upcoming memorial services
PEORIA – The family of former Councilmember Carlo Leone would like to invite the public to a memorial service and reception on Saturday, August 17, to honor his life and legacy.
Leone served Peoria for 20 years as a councilmember for the Pine District.
After 20 years of service to Peoria and three months after resigning, former Councilmember Carlo “Rocky” Leone passed away on June 19, 2019. He was 84.
During his tenure, he was known for his outspoken nature and unwavering dedication to his district and its residents, frequently visiting constituents at their homes and city or neighborhood events.
Leone lived more than 30 years in Peoria with his family.He is survived by his four children, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
The memorial takes place on at St. Charles Borromeo, 8615 W. Peoria Avenue, starting at 10 a.m. There is a reception immediately following the memorial service at the Peoria Community Center, located at 8335 W. Jefferson Street.
