WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) announced today that the 2019 Congressional Art Competition for high school students throughout the Eighth Congressional District of Arizona is now underway.
“Each year, the Congressional Art Competition offers high school students an opportunity to showcase their creative talents,” said Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (Rep). “Whether it’s a painting, drawing, or photograph, students in Arizona’s Eighth District can submit original works of art for the chance to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.”
Current high school students are invited to submit an original work of art for the competition. The Congressional Art Competition is open to all 9th – 12th grade students residing in or attending a school in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.
The winner of this year’s competition will have their artwork on display for one year in the U.S. Capitol. All entries will be on public display at the Valley Vista Performing Arts Center in Surprise. The deadline to submit artwork is Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the artistic talents of students from across the district,” Lesko said.
