Bequeath upon your family the joyous experience of The Bard Shakespeare in the park comes to Peoria

PEORIA – Are you wondering ‘wherefore art’ all the fun things to do?  Peoria is hosting a live outdoor performance of Julius Cesar on Saturday, April 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. performed by the renowned Southwest Shakespeare Company.

The free performance will be held under the stars in Centennial Plaza Park, located behind city hall. This family-friendly event will include face painting, outdoor games and food trucks.  Put on your doublets and breeches and bring your blankets and chairs to this fun family experience.

“Julius Caesar” tells the story of betrayal of the Roman emperor Caesar and his friend Marcus Brutus. It features many of Shakespeare’s most memorable quotes such as “beware the ides of March” and “Et tu, Brute?”

Set in ancient Rome, this performance is a classic Shakespearean tragedy told in a family-friendly environment geared toward students.

Chariot parking is available in the public parking garages on the east and west sides of Centennial Plaza, located at 9825 W. 85th Ave. The event begins at 6 p.m., and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
