State Forestry introduces new mobile app connecting residents to real-time information

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (AZDFFM) released a new mobile phone app that provides wildland fire information, fire restriction notifications and details, fire prevention tips, a payment portal and local forest health-related information.

The users of the new app can sign up for push alerts that will allow AZDFFM to send critical information like fires in their area and fire restrictions.

The app also provides links to the agency’s social media pages and users can submit questions, anonymous tips, photos and other information.

“The Department of Forestry and Fire Management is excited to be able to use this technology to better serve our residents,” AZDFFM Public Affairs Officer Tiffany Davila said. “The mobile application offers another outlet for pertinent, often times, urgent information and connects users to real-time information at their fingertips.”

The app is free and is available on iTunes and Google Play.
