ANTHEM – Less than one year after welcoming its inaugural high school class at its campus in Anthem, Caurus Academy announced that it will be opening a new facility for students in high school and middle school grades in west Anthem, which will be opening in August 2019.
“I am extremely excited to share the good news that Caurus has been working on for the last two years,” said Dameon Blair, the director of Caurus Academy. “I am very excited to share that we just acquired 10-acres with a 64,000-square-foot facility that will be built in the next eight months here in the community of Anthem, Arizona.”
The new campus will be located near 43rd Avenue and Circle Mountain Road and will have two buildings; one will be a 38,000-square-foot, two-story building; and the other is a 18,000-square-foot gymnasium, according to the announcement video Caurus released on social media on January 20.
The larger building will have two wings. One wing will be for the middle school students, while the other will be for the high school students.
“Both groups of students will have access to our state-of the art science labs, fine arts labs and media production room,” Blair said in the video.
The gymnasium will support the school’s growing athletic program with a weight room, lockers, training room and concession area.
Caurus Academy’s new facility will also have a music room, media production studio and a performance area with a stage once it is completed.
“Every part of our new facility was strategically designed with intentional purpose on safety for our students and faculty,” he said.
The school will have security cameras, gated entrance, secured lobby and strategic window placement throughout the campus.
Open enrollment has begun for the 2019-2020 school year for Caurus Academy and its new campus. The school anticipates a waiting list and the administration is encouraging families to schedule a tour soon.
Caurus Academy will also hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 44112 North Black Canyon Highway on February 15, at 9 a.m.
