The art of healing

The Greek physician Hippocrates wrote centuries ago, “The natural healing force is within each of us, healing is a matter awareness and time, but sometimes it’s a matter of opportunity.”

Natural healing and wellness are lifelong goals for local yoga practitioner Amy Stephens. Her vision included helping others on their wellness journey though her practice at AZ Healing Center in Scottsdale.

Born in St. Charles, Mo., Amy credits her mom as her first role model in defining a life filled with creativity and wellness through the practice of yoga. Amy inherited her mother’s flare for interior design and event planning.

Eventually she would pivot this creative energy into gaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from William Woods University in Fulton, Mo.

Amy expanded her interest and talents in healing and wellness by becoming a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner and a Registered Yoga Teacher.

Amy relocated to the Phoenix area in 2004. Today she is the owner of AZ Healing Center. She describes the center as a space where everyone is welcomed into the healing community regardless of age or physical ability.

The space is comfortable, relaxing and designed to draw people for conversation, laughter and healing.

In addition, guests may enjoy many support and healing services offered in the form of prenatal and postnatal massage, healing touch, dance and yoga just to name a few.

One of the services Amy offers her guests is wedding officiating for those seeking an intimate and beautiful setting to exchange their vows and spend time with invited guests.

Special events, new classes, lectures and arts related exhibits and workshops are added on a regular basis in the spirit of nurturing the health of the whole person.

Amy personally invites you to the next event “Relationship Art” on Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 3-5 p.m. The event will feature local artists in healing jewelry design, printed organic textiles, sustainable reusable art objects and much more.

She will also be hosting a couples workshop, on February 12, integrating Thai massage and breath work to connect and support you and your partner with gentle stretching.

AZ Healing Center is located at 9336 E. Raintree Drive, Suite 130, in Scottsdale. Visit azhealingcenter.com for information, to register for consultations and classes and to keep up to date on upcoming events.
