NRDHIC holding community potluck

NEW RIVER – The New River Incorporation Committee (NRDHIC) is holding a community potluck, which is a family fun event for all ages that will take place on December 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wrangler’s Roost, 2500 W. New River Road.

The purpose of the potluck is for the rural community to have the opportunity to meet their neighbors, and to meet core members of NRDHIC, who are researching the feasibility of incorporating the area into an official town.

NRDHIC will also be collecting toys at the potluck for the Daisy Mountain Firefighter Charities’ annual Christmas Toy Drive. Toys must be new and unwrapped. Gift cards will also be accepted, and will be used by the charity to provide for local families in need.

NRDHIC held a potluck in August with a great turnout from the community, so don’t miss out on this fun opportunity to meet and get to know your neighbors.

The Foothills Focus made an error in our November 21, issue in the community events section and stated that the community potluck was being facilitated by the New River Desert Hills Community Association (NRDHCA), which is incorrect. The New River Desert Hills Incorporation Committee (NRDHIC) and the NRDHCA are not affiliated. The Focus apologizes for any confusion this may have caused its readers.
