MARICOPA COUNTY – From now until July 31 the State of Arizona is offering free, nutritious meals for children 18-years-old or younger at over 500 locations across the state for its Summer Lunch Buddies Program.

No application or proof of income is required, and families are welcome to come for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. Many locations offer food for parents at a reduced cost.

Locations can be found online at Maricopa.gov/SummerFood or residents can text “FOOD” to 877877 and have locations sent to their phone.

Norterra Canyon School located at 2200 W. Maya Way in North Phoenix is serving breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Adults can purchase meals at this location, breakfast is $1.50 and lunch is $3.50.

Summer Lunch Buddies is Arizona’s campaign for the Summer Food Service Program, which is a federally-funded child nutrition program that ensures free meals are available to children while school is out of session.
