Local residents asked to provide input on Daisy Mountain Area Plan

NORTH VALLEY – The Maricopa County Planning & Development Department is in the process of adopting an updated area plan for the North Valley. Residents’ input continues to be sought.

A Daisy Mountain Area Plan committee made up of local residents has created an online survey that community members can fill out to indicate what issues they feel the county needs to address in the area plan. Access the survey at Survey answers will help determine the most vital issues facing the Daisy Mountain area.

The new plan will be called the Daisy Mountain Area Plan (currently called the New River Area Plan). Information on the area plan is available at The plan covers the unincorporated areas of the communities of New River, Desert Hills, and Anthem. This Area Plan is part of the Vision 2030 County's Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

Area plans are designed to:

Fulfill statutory requirements
Protect public health
Protect public safety
Represent a consensus building process
Promote quality communities
Help allocate limited financial resources
Establish important public policy
Serve as a decision making guide
Link complex and interrelated planning issues

The area plan survey should take less than five minutes to complete. Responses need to be made by Dec. 31.
