Black Canyon City Community Library holding holiday events

BLACK CANYON CITY – The Black Canyon City Community Library is ringing in the holiday season with fun and the gift of a good book! The Library is extending its Book Sale for another week and will be running until Saturday, Dec. 9. Through this time everything will be half off, meaning paperbacks and VHSs for a nickel, DVDs and hardbacks for a quarter. If you’ve been waiting, now is the time to check it out, and if you’ve already stopped by, you may want to give it another look, as many more items have been added.

For the kids, the Library will be hosting December Theater, presenting holiday movies throughout the month. The first will be Saturday, Dec. 9, where they will show the new ‘Pete’s Dragon’ at 1 p.m. At 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, ‘Polar Express’ will be shown as part of Create and Craft. Friday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m., they will have ‘A Christmas Carol’ with Jim Carrey and ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’, also with Jim Carrey, on Saturday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m.

For crafters of all ages, Deb Mundell will be stopping by at 11 a.m. on Dec. 9 to bring the Kindness Rocks Program to the Library. If you’ve seen the adorable painted rocks that have been appearing all over Black Canyon City and would like to get in on the fun, this is your chance! You can be creative and make BCC a brighter place at the same time. Beautiful Creative Crafts on Tuesday, Dec. 12 will be a wonderful time to get together with other craft enthusiasts and do whatever moves you.

There will be no closures this month, and regular library programs, like Beginners Yoga and Storytime, will all continue at their normal times. As always, event calendars are available at the Library and also on the Library’s web site,
