NORTH VALLEY – Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities is hosting their annual toy drive for the next several weekends. All donations will go to children in local hospitals or to local families in need.
Firefighters and their families, nurses from local hospitals, and other volunteers will be at the Wal-mart in Anthem from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26; Sunday, Nov. 27; Saturday, Dec. 3; Sunday, Dec. 4; Saturday, Dec. 10; Sunday, Dec. 11; and Saturday, Dec. 17 to collect toys and other items for those in need.
In addition to toys, the charity is asking for donations of clothes, blankets, gift cards, monetary donations, and non-perishable food. All donations will go to local families, children at the Maricopa Integrated Health System Children's Center, and Honor Health's Mendy's Place and Sonoran facilities.
Each year, Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities collects toys to donate to multiple children’s hospitals and brighten the holidays of the children who are in the hospital at Christmastime. All the toys left after the initial toy delivery are kept at the hospital to give to children who come in all year long, providing comfort to the sick and injured kids or those who come to the hospital with a sick family member.
On Dec. 19, Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities will be joined by Santa for a very special delivery at the children’s hospitals. Every child in the hospital gets a visit from Santa and their own special gifts, including kids who are there with hospitalized family members.
Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities thanks the community for their support and asks for everyone to help make a child's Christmas extra special this year.
