MCSO investigating assault in Anthem

ANTHEM – Two teenage boys suffered stab wounds in an assault that occurred on the night of Nov. 15.

Just before midnight on Saturday, Nov. 15, two teenagers were injured after an incident near Dedication Trail and Morse Drive, in Anthem. The teen boys are expected to recover from their injuries.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the suspects in the crime. A social media post, said to be created by a family member of the boys, has indicated that the assault could be racially motivated. MCSO is reporting that at this point in the investigation, they do not have evidence of this being a hate crime; a full investigation is ongoing.

The suspects’ vehicle is reported to be a white truck with a white cross sticker on the back. No further description of the suspects has been released at this time.

The Foothills Focus is not reporting names or physical descriptions of the injured boys or their family members, in order to ensure their privacy and safety.
