Outlets at Anthem to hold tree lighting on Nov. 14

PHOENIX – It’s been looking like Christmas at the Outlets at Anthem since the 115-foot tall white fir Christmas tree was delivered last month. Over the last several weeks, the tree has been decorated with three miles of LED lights and 25,000 ornaments and bows, and now it’s time to officially light up the tree. A tree lighting ceremony is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, 5-9 p.m.

The tree lighting ceremony will feature live performances by JoJo, Maggie Rose, and local acts from around the Valley.

“Our Christmas Tree lighting has become a tradition for families across Arizona,” said Outlets at Anthem Marketing Director, Sallyann Martinez. “We are thrilled to welcome so many talented entertainers, such as JoJo and Maggie Rose, to continue our tradition and ring in the holiday season. Local acts that will add some local flare to the event include Scottsdale triplets, Just Seconds Apart, and the ASU all girl acapella group, The Pitchforks. ”

VIP packages that are currently being auctioned off include exclusive tickets for a meet and greet with JoJo and Maggie Rose, a private party before the concert and up-front seating for the show. To bid on one of these packages, visit the Outlets at Anthem Web site at All proceeds will go to the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, a nonprofit charitable organization.

When the clock strikes 7 p.m. on Nov. 14, Santa Claus, along with emcee Javier Soto from 3TV and Phoenix Councilwoman Thelda Williams, will lead the countdown and flip the switch to light the tallest tree in the nation. The Rhapsody Music Christmas Band will entertain the crowd immediately following the lighting.

This year’s Friday Family Fun Night on Nov. 13 will feature a night of frozen fun, 5-8 p.m. During Family Fun Night, attendees can make a snowflake, pet a dinosaur, sing along with Dickens Carolers, and take pictures with Elsa and Anna princesses. In addition, participants can play games, receive The Good Dinosaur movie fun items, and view the 1,000-piece Rubik’s cube mosaic. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas and bundle up to watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” at 7:15 p.m. and watch it snow at 7:45 p.m.
