Carols, candles, and cheer: PMAZ planning holiday concerts
ANTHEM – ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, ProMusica Arizona’s holiday concert to be held on Dec. 4, 5, and 6 in three North Valley locations, will feature beautiful arrangements of traditional carols, candles, readings, and sing-alongs for families to kick off the holiday season. Carols such as Celtic Noel and African Noel add an international flavor to the holiday experience, and there is a beautiful outdoor setting for the Dec. 5 concert where families can sip hot chocolate and cider in a winter wonderland setting.
Concert locations are: Friday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church of Sun City (17200 N. Del Webb Blvd, Sun City); Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Crosswinds Presbyterian Church (20125 N. 15 Ave., Phoenix); and Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church (39808 N. Gavilan Peak Pkwy., Anthem).
The Dec. 5 concert benefits Family Promise of Greater Phoenix, whose mission is to reduce homelessness in greater Phoenix by helping homeless families attain self-sufficiency.
Patti Graetz will serve as guest conductor. With over 30 years of choir and orchestra conducting experience, Graetz promises great performances with both traditional and modern favorites of the season. In addition to her conducting experience, Graetz is a skilled opera singer, voice and piano teacher, vocal coach for musical theater, and opera, pianist, and organist.
