No injuries reported from North Valley fires

NORTH VALLEY – The North Valley has had two fires and one suspected fire in the last week.

On Nov. 4, Phoenix Fire Department responded to a fire at Bella Gardens Nursery in north Phoenix. The mulch fire burned about eight acres, and the smoke could be seen throughout the North Valley. The fire has finally died out, after burning through the weekend.

Daisy Mountain Fire Department responded to a carport fire in New River on Nov. 4. The crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire and keep it from extending to nearby homes.

Daisy Mountain Fire crews were called out to Anthem Preparatory Academy on Nov. 5 for a possible on-campus fire. No fire was found, but crews remained on-scene investigating the cause of a smoke smell. Students were dismissed early that day; classes resumed the following day.

No injuries have been reported for any of these incidents.
