CAVE CREEK – Local artist Irma Turtle will be giving a book talk and signing copies of her most recently published book “Nomads I Have Known and Loved,” at the Desert Foothills Library on Friday, Nov. 8 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
“Nomads I Have Known and Loved” is a beautifully illustrated book with poems and stories from the life and work of Irma Turtle. It chronicles her view of African nomads and tribal groups she met while running her travel company Turtle Tours, which eventually became TurtleWill, a not-for-profit organization that helped support education, healthcare, and the empowerment of tribal women.
Don’t miss meeting this extraordinary woman, hearing her stories of transformation, and experiencing this delightfully magical book.
