NVSO presents first concert of the season on Oct. 22

PHOENIX – Phoenix violists Craig and Jessica Triplett will be featured in North Valley Symphony Orchestra’s first concert of the 2016-17 season: ‘Three Bs: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms’, on Saturday, Oct. 22, 7 p.m., at North Canyon High School Auditorium, 1700 E. Union Hills Drive.

Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 6  is the least known and most rarely performed of the six Brandenburg Concertos, and features an unusual combination of instruments. The viola was Bach's favorite orchestral instrument, and NVSO Concertmaster Craig Triplett will join his wife, NVSO viola principal Jessica Triplett, in performing the viola solos.

The concert will include two additional selections showcasing well-known classical composers. The NVSO Youth Orchestra will introduce their season to audience members by taking the stage for a short time to perform Brahms’ Hungarian Dances No.4, 5 & 6.

NVSO ticket prices are $5 each concert, or $15 for a full Season Pass to include all four concerts.  Purchase tickets online at www.northvalleysymphony.org or by calling (623) 980-4628.
