New entry/exit gates being installed at Anthem Community Park

ANTHEM – Entry and exit gates at all Anthem Community Park entrances are set to be installed by the end of November.

All three Community Park vehicle lots will have gates installed. The initial concrete groundwork has been completed. The gates will be used when the park is closed, as part of the park’s security system. The gates, which will be manual, are meant to deter after-hours vehicle traffic and parking.

In a release from the Anthem Community Council, the gates are described as “part of the Council’s long-term security plan for ACC facilities and amenities.”

The gate installation is an ACC operating fund expense that was planned, budgeted, and approved for the 2015 budget. The long-term security plan was on ACC meeting agendas in 2014, and potential and current security measures were outlined and discussed, including park patrol, security cameras, contracted off-duty law enforcement, MCSO Posse assistance, Community Park vehicle access gates, building alarm systems, and emergency plans. The security plan is noted as evaluation to “develop a comprehensive and cost effective approach to safeguard ACC facilities and the people who use them.”
