Autumn’s best at Autumnfest


ANTHEM – Anthem’s annual celebration of all things autumn is happening Oct. 24-25, at the Anthem Community Park. Autumnfest will feature arts and crafts, carnival rides and games, a kids’ zone, pumpkin patch, photo booth, apple pie contest, live music, and a variety of items for sale from local vendors.

Autumnfest events run 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Autumnfest is open to the public; parking and admission are free.

The carnival will be open on Thursday, Oct. 22, 5-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 5-10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, 1-10 p.m., and Sunday, 1-6 p.m. The Frazier Shows Carnival will offer host of rides and attractions, including a Ferris wheel, swings, fun house, and carousel, in addition to “thrill-seeker” rides like the Vertigo. Rides and games vary in price. All-you-can-ride wristbands will be available during select times.

Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase. No outside food or drinks are allowed in the food court area.

The arts and crafts fair will include items from local vendors, like handmade goods, culinary creations, art, jewelry, photography, candles, furniture, and more. The kids’ zone will feature hayrides and inflatables. Daisy Mountain Railroad will be offering train rides, too. At the pumpkin patch, families can pick out a pumpkin and decorate and paint it. The Autumnfest photo booth is a new attraction this year. Families can have free photos taken at the photo booth, and the photos will be available for download later.

Join in the tasting of the apple pie contest and help pick the People’s Choice award winner. The contest is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10:30 a.m. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the single and double crust divisions. To enter the contest, see

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol division will be on-site on Saturday, Oct. 24. Stop by for a meet-and-greet. Also on Saturday, Smokey the Bear will be at Autumnfest to help kids learn how to keep their community safe from fires. Attendees can also take a tour through a fire truck and on-site medical trailer.
