Over 750 pounds of food collected in Sept. 11 food drive

ANTHEM – About 750 pounds of canned and non-perishable food items were donated to the Foothills Food Bank and the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, thanks to the Sept. 11 food drive. Food was collected at Harper Physical Therapy and Canyon Springs School. The drive was hosted by local resident Deborah and her family in honor of her father, who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

This was the best year yet for collections for the annual food drive. The donations will help feed families in the north valley community.

Deborah noted, “The food banks are always so thankful and so appreciative of our food drive. The joy on their faces when we pull up in our trucks, brings tears to my eyes. On what could be a hard day for our family, it turns into a beautiful day of giving and helping others.”
