YCSO detectives seeking burglary suspect

BLACK CANYON CITY – Yavapai County sheriff’s detectives are searching for the suspect who burglarized a Black Canyon City business. In a Sept. 10 release, YCSO noted that, on Aug. 28, YCSO deputies were called to the Black Canyon Community Health Center regarding a burglary.

“An employee at the Health Center told deputies she arrived around 8 a.m., noticed the back door was unlocked, and that the receptionist area had been ransacked,” the release stated. An envelope containing cash had been stolen. A portable safe had also been stolen from the business.

“The safe is described as 2 feet by 2 feet in dimension, dark grey in color, with a digital keypad to unlock the door. The exact monetary loss has not been disclosed.”

According to the report, the suspect(s) gained entry by using a rock to smash out a front window. The burglary occurred between 6 p.m. on Aug. 27, when the Health Center closed that evening, and 8 a.m. on Aug. 28.

A detective from YCSO’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating the incident, as well as leads obtained over the last few days.
