OSR donates 706 cases of bottled water through summer water drive

NORTH VALLEY – OSR Physical Therapy donated 706 cases of bottled water, totaling 16,944 bottles, during this summer’s water drive.

Donated water will assist the St. Mary’s Food Bank and the Salvation Army through their cooperation with the Phoenix Heat Relief Network, which will help the homeless and home-bound, as well as assisting in disaster relief efforts.

This first annual OSR water drive ran July 15-Aug. 31. For each new patient referral, OSR donated a case of water. Scott Foreman, VP Public Relations at OSR, said they plan on holding this water drive every summer.

“Our goal was 500 cases of water so we feel good that we exceeded that amount by 206 cases,” Foreman said.

The summer heat can easily be deadly, and dehydration is a large factor in this. OSR distributed fliers detailing the dangers of dehydration and sharing information about how water donations would help the community.

“The response from both office staff and patients, has been one of appreciation to learn about the plight of the underserved here in the Valley and the related statistics and that this water will help meet those needs,” Foreman said.
