ANTHEM – Retirement community The Enclave at Anthem is on track to welcome the first residents in August 2017. The new facility, located on Venture Dr., is currently under construction and will include 159 total apartments when completed.

Kathleen MacDonald, Vice President of Marketing for Spectrum Retirement Communities, LLC, the parent company of The Enclave at Anthem, noted that the facility will offer a continuum of care, with 81 independent living apartments, 54 assisted living apartments, and 24 memory care neighborhood units. Transitional memory care will also be offered. Apartments range in size from studio to two-bedroom, two-bath.

MacDonald noted that all apartments are private and are available through month-to-month rentals, with no buy-in fee.

“All of the amenities are also included in the monthly rent,” MacDonald said. She noted that all meals are included, and The Enclave at Anthem will feature At Your Service dining, with no set dining times, so that residents can eat whenever they like. Amenities will include a wellness center with exercise equipment, a swimming pool, a physical therapy room, a bistro, two dining rooms, a private dining room, a library, business center, theater, and beauty salon. Independent and assisted living apartments also include washers and dryers.

“About 40 percent of the community is dedicated to community space,” MacDonald said.

“We have a very innovative activities program,” MacDonald said, noting that there are various clubs and activities available every day.

“There’s always something going on, every day, seven days a week,” she said.

The Enclave at Anthem is located south of Anthem Way on Venture Dr., in a central location.

“We’re so excited about that location,” MacDonald said.

The building’s architects are Gastinger Walker; the builders are MT Builders. The building will be multi-story, with the independent side of the community three stories tall and the assisted living and memory care side two stories tall. Each apartment will have its own AC unit; grills will be visible, but ground mounted equipment will not be visible, according to MacDonald.

This is the fourth Spectrum Retirements community in Arizona, and additional Arizona communities are planned. Spectrum has 32 communities total, currently. When completed, The Enclave at Anthem will employ 75-80 staff members.

The Enclave at Anthem is taking deposits on apartments now. MacDonald said as move-in dates draw closer, the community will work with partners to offer downsizing seminars and other services to help take the stress out of moving.

“It’s really a service we would like to help our residents with, just to make everything as easy as possible,” MacDonald said.
