Big Heap Vintage and Handmade Festival upcoming

SCOTTSDALE – The Big Heap Vintage and Handmade Festival, which will take place Nov. 21, 22 and 23, will be held at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale this year.

The festival’s unique vendors include favorites Diablo Forge, Bella and Bruiser, award winning jeweler, Lilia Corona, Fiber and Fire, Paris Montana, Vintage by Jen, Rethunque Junque, Vintage Bliss, Grizzly Iron, the Salvage Company, Whimsical Garden Things, Vagabond Xchange, Rookie Lucas, Sugar Jams, sculptor Terry Pyland, and Jack and Cat Curio, to name a few.

Other new additions to the popular festival include a project runway-type cocktail event on Nov. 21 that will feature beer, wine and a signature cocktail during which guests can meet various stylists while enjoying the views. Funds generated from this portion of the event will go to a local charity to benefit women in need.

The Big Heap Vintage& Handmade Festival also continues its popular charity known as Pay It Artward. This program allows an artist to create a piece of art for, or at the festival, and gives visitors the opportunity to pay $1 for a chance to win the piece, with proceeds going toward funding a selected artist to create a piece of his/her own to be donated to a public space. An artist will be selected to create a specialty art item for a raffle, the winner of which will be announced on the last day of the event.

The Big Heap will be held at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, which is located at 7555 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale, Ariz., 85258. The entry fee is $7 for adults; there is no charge for children 12 years and younger.
