New River Kiwanis park updates continue

8/12/2015

NEW RIVER – The Kiwanis Community Park in New River is getting spruced up this summer, and the work is ongoing. At the last work party, the landscaping got some TLC, and the cleaning and restoration of the park continued throughout.

The next ‘Caring for your Community Park’ volunteer event is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15, between 6 a.m. and noon. Anyone who would like to help is welcome to come by the park either day. Continued work on the park bathrooms and the SnackShack is on the agenda for the weekend. Volunteers should bring their own tools; water will be provided.

‘Caring for your Community Park’ is an ongoing project everyone can volunteer for. The park consists of 80+ acres with Kiwanis Clubhouse, active Senior Center, ballparks, kiddie play area, covered picnic areas with barbecues, hiking trails, and Larkyn Memorial Arena.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the next work party can call Tony at (623) 229-6820 for information.
