SCOTTSDALE – The Desert Foothills Youth Theater has won four National Youth Arts Awards for their 2013-14 season. DFYT was also nominated for nine additional awards.

National Youth Arts considered more than 400 productions from states all over the country for these awards. DFYT is proud to have brought home four awards among the stiff competition they faced in this national contest.

Award winners:

  • Lead Actress in a Musical: Hannah Rose as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors
  • Supporting Actor in a Musical: Spencer Claus as Orin/Skip Snip in Little Shop of Horrors
  • Supporting Actress in a Play: Sedona Tracey as Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream
  • Outstanding Ensemble: Little Shop of Horrors

 

Award nominations:

  • Lead Actor in a Musical: Zach Zupke as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors
  • Supporting Actor in a Musical: Mason Reeves as Audrey II Voice in Little Shop of Horrors
  • Supporting Actress in a Musical: Becca Bauer as Mrs. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors
  • Supporting Actress in a Play: Samantha Nicole Yedor as Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream
  • Supporting Actress (Junior Division): Ashley Shirley as Robin/Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream
  • Outstanding Ensemble: A Midsummer Night’s Dream
  • Musical Direction: Jennifer Whiting for Little Shop of Horrors
  • Direction: Dale Nakagawa for Little Shop of Horrors
  • Direction: Amy Serafin for A Midsummer Night’s Dream
