Starlight Community Theater receives National Youth Arts Awards

PHOENIX – Starlight Community Theater has received five National Youth Arts Awards and 15 additional nominations for their 2014-2015 season productions.  

National Youth Arts Awards honor outstanding work by youth in the arts. This year, more than 400 productions were considered for the awards, including shows from more than 160 different members in more than 70 cities spanning 13 states. In addition to the youth who performed in schools and youth theatre companies, anyone age 18 and under who performed at a show reviewed by a National Youth Arts judge was also considered for the awards, as well as the adults who participated in the youth productions backstage and a limited number of guest adult performers in productions designed for youth.

The cast of Starlight’s ‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’ will be honored to perform at the National Youth Arts Awards Ceremony on Aug. 16.
