Bella Vista Prep offering financial aid for upcoming school year
SCOTTSDALE – Bella Vista College Preparatory School has Low Income Corporate Income Tax Credit grants and aid available for up to 10 high school students and five students each for third, fourth, or fifth grades for the 2015-2016 school year.
The funds have come in through companies’ income tax credits to education. Bella Vista, a private K-12 school based in north Scottsdale, now has 25 awards available, with a total value of $325,000. Full and partial grants are available.
Guidelines for grants and aid are as follows:
Student’s family income cannot exceed 185 percent of the income required to qualify a child for reduced price lunches (For a family of four, this would be about $44,800 in annual income.) AND student must meet one of the following:
Student attended an Arizona public school as a full-time student for at least 90 days of the prior fiscal year or one full semester and then transferred from the public school to a private school; OR
Is enrolling or currently enrolled in a private school kindergarten; OR
Is enrolling or currently enrolled in a private preschool program for students with disabilities; OR
Is a dependent of a member of the armed forces of the United States who is stationed in Arizona pursuant to military orders; OR
Received a low-income corporate scholarship under one of the above criteria in a prior year and the child continued to attend a private school in subsequent years; OR
Received an original individual scholarship or a switcher individual scholarship in a prior year and the child continued to attend a private school in subsequent years.
In addition to these guidelines, applicants must meet all admission requirements of Bella Vista College Preparatory School to attend.
