North valley power outage caused by downed power lines
NORTH VALLEY – Multiple APS customers in Anthem, New River, and north Phoenix had no electricity on the afternoon and evening of Sunday, July 12.
According to APS representative Alan Bunnell, the outage was weather-related. Due to weather conditions, three electrical poles with lines attached were downed. Bunnell said the electrical lines that were affected are located at Photo View to Rockaway Hills and 67th Ave. to 31st Ave.
Bunnell noted that the outage began at 11:21 a.m. on July 12. Altogether, 1,541 customers lost power in the outage. APS worked to repair the damage and restore customers’ power over the course of the evening.
“We had everybody back in by 2:20 this morning (Monday, July 13),” Bunnell said.
APS posted periodic notes on the outage page on their Web site. APS responded to Facebook posts on their page and Twitter postings, noting that they were trying to get electricity back up and giving updates on the numbers of customers restored to power.
