Plans underway for the fourteenth annual Linda’s W.I.S.H. 5K

ANTHEM – Planning for the 14th Annual Linda's W.I.S.H. 5K Run/Walk & Wellness Event sponsored by New Balance is in full swing at the Persimmon Golf Course at Anthem Golf and Country Club. The event, held in memory of Linda Kacmarsky, is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26 at 8 a.m. It is expected to draw in many familiar faces who have participated in past years’ events, as well as new runners and walkers across the Valley area to support one cause: the fight against breast cancer. The 5K is the only event of its kind that takes runners and walkers on a guided, scenic path alongside the golf course, making it safe and fun for families with young children.

“Linda was a strong, determined woman. If she heard someone was affected by breast cancer, she'd be the first in line to help get them through their journey. This event is a constant reminder of Linda’s kindness and passion,” said husband Frank Kacmarsky. “We can never fill Linda’s shoes, but hopefully we can keep her dream alive.”

One hundred percent of the net proceeds from Linda's W.I.S.H. will benefit HonorHealth Breast Health and Research Center to support patients, their families, and caregivers by providing an abundance of unique services at no cost. Among the many services offered are financial assistance, nutritional education, transportation, wigs and prosthetics, genetic counseling, and specialized support groups for those impacted by breast cancer.

“We are humbled and honored to be the recipient of the funds from Linda's W.I.S.H.,” said Brooke Williams of HonorHealth. “Proceeds from Linda's W.I.S.H. will enable HonorHealth to provide these invaluable resources and offer hope and health to those whose lives are affected by breast cancer.”

Everyone who registers by Sept. 1 will receive an official Linda’s W.I.S.H. T-shirt. All participants will receive a gift bag from Valley sponsors, light breakfast, and bottled water along the course. Timing chips and bibs will also be provided, and the top three of all age classes for men, boys, women, and girls will receive a medal concluding the event. Registration is $30 per individual, $10 per child under 12 years of age, or $75 for families with up to four children until Sept. 25 (includes two adult shirts only).
