Anthem man arrested on 24 charges related to child sex abuse and drugs
ANTHEM – A 30-year-old Anthem man was arrested on July 7 on 24 charges related to sexual conduct with a minor, administering a narcotic drug to another, child abuse, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Ernest Joseph Longhini III was arrested at his residence, a Parkside home on Territory Trail just north of Memorial Dr. This home appears to be owned by his mother, according to court and assessor’s records, and via public information on their social media accounts, she appears to also reside in the Anthem home.
According to a July 8 press release, MCSO detectives arrested Longhini after an investigation that began after receiving a tip several weeks ago that involved a man trading methamphetamines and heroin for sexual favors. During the investigation, detectives received information that a 16-year-old female runaway was staying at this Anthem home with Longhini and that he was injecting her with drugs. Prior to making the arrest, detectives found evidence on the property of drug use, including hypodermic needles containing fluid that tested positive for heroin. While surveilling the home on the day of Longhini’s arrest, detectives witnessed the teenager exiting the house through a bedroom window and made contact with her. She confirmed that the suspect did inject her with heroin on numerous occasions and that she believed he had done the same to her sister.
MCSO detectives convinced Longhini to surrender to them. According to MCSO, Longhini told detectives that he had injected heroin into three different under-aged girls on multiple occasions in exchange for sex.
Longhini has been booked into the 4th Avenue Jail. If you have information on this ongoing case, contact MCSO Crime Stop at (602) 876-1011.
