Black Canyon City Community Library hosting local beekeeper

BLACK CANYON CITY – On Saturday, July 15, the Black Canyon City Community Library will welcome local apiarist, a.k.a. beekeeper, Barrie Dickerson for the latest Summer Reading Program event. Kids 3-14 will learn about how important bees are to the environment, sample fresh honey, see beekeeper’s equipment up close, and do fun bee crafts.

The presentation will run 12-1 p.m., with crafts and snacks from 1-2 p.m. The event is completely free and there will be no handling of actual bees, so no worries about getting stung. It will “bee” a great time! And of course, make sure to get the kids’ reading logs up to date – the pizza party on the 29th is coming up fast.

Also, the library apologizes for the Fly Guy’s cancellation last week; he will be doing a show instead on Wednesday, July 26, 12-1 p.m. Hope you can make it!
