Dropping by for a visit…

NEW RIVER – This Desert Spiny Lizard was photographed at a New River home last week. This male lizard, identified as such by his markings, hangs out at this home regularly.

Desert Spiny Lizards are helpful visitors. They eat ants, beetles, spiders, centipedes, and some plant material.

Desert Spiny Lizards hatchlings generally begin showing up in July. Maybe this New River visitor will be bringing family by soon!
