First storm of monsoon 2015 brings strong winds, rain

NORTH VALLEY – The first monsoon storm rolled in on Monday, June 29, bringing strong winds, thunder and lightning, and a downpour of rain across the north valley.

The northeast valley was hit hard by the storm. Crews in Paradise Valley had to clear away fallen trees on Tuesday morning due to the severity of the winds. The Prescott area had severe storms, including heavy rain and hail, causing power outages in the area.

Monsoon storms are possible for this week, but, so far, no storms are predicted on Independence Day. The hot, humid weather will be continuing, with highs around 105 every day.
