Tee Fire burns an estimated 1,200 acres; now contained

BLACK CANYON CITY – A wildfire sparked in rugged terrain southeast of Black Canyon City burned approximately 1,200 acres before containment, according to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.

The Tee Fire started on the evening of Saturday, June 10, in difficult-to-access terrain, north of the Table Mesa area and southeast of Black Canyon City. According to incident information system Inciweb, the fire suppression crew included 100 personnel, including Daisy Mountain Fire Department crews. Due to the inaccessibility of the area, air resources were ordered to fight the fire.

The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, which took command of the fire early Sunday morning, reported on social media on Sunday that the forward progression of the Tee Fire had been stopped and that the fire burned approximately 1,200 acres.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
