Boulder Creek graduates earn college
scholarships

Three members from the Fall sports season at Boulder Creek High School
will continue their athletic careers on college scholarships.
Matthew Crocker, Andrea Derflinger and Sara Callagy, all members of
the class of 2010 signed letters of intent in May.
Crocker, a defensive back for the Jaguars, signed with Ohio Wesleyan
University, a NCAA Division III program in Delaware, Ohio.
During his senior year Crocker was involved in 53 tackles during his
senior year. He also intercepted one pass and deflected six others.
Callagy’s college sports career will take place in the Big Sky Conference
as a member of the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team.
The school located in Cheney will have Callagy, who tied for fourth
in the 5A Div-II individual state tournament back in November. Callagy’s
effort at Maryvale Golf Course helped the Jaguars to a ninth place
finish at the 5A Div-II state tournament.
Derflinger also will compete in the Big Sky Conference as a member
of the Northern Arizona University swim team.
Derflinger helped the Jaguars team to a ninth place finish at the
5A Div-II state meet in November. Derflinger individual accomplishments
included a sixth place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, finishing
in a time of 1:01.14. She also was a part of two point getting relays
for the Jaguars, helping the 200 yard medley relay team to a sixth
place finish while contributing to the 400 yard medley relay team’s
eight place finish.
