Race for Joy 5K run on April 7 to benefit the Foothills Food Bank


CAVE CREEK – Our Lady of Joy Parish and The Knights of Columbus will hold a 5K run and walk known as the Race for Joy on Saturday, April 7 in Carefree to benefit the Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center and St. Vincent de Paul Society.

According to Foothills Food Bank Director Pam DiPietro, the walk/run will commence in the parking lot of Our Lady of Joy Parish at 9 a.m. The parish is located at 36811 North Pima Road in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Pre-race packets can be picked up on Friday, April 4 from 4-7 p.m. at Fleet Feet Scottsdale and on Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Joy Parish.

The Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center provides emergency food, financial assistance and other life necessities and resources to individuals and families in the desert foothills, which encompasses a 180-square mile area that includes Black Canyon City, Cave Creek, Carefree, Anthem, Desert Hills, New River, north Scottsdale and north Phoenix.
