Art Festival comes to Easy Street
STAFF REPORT ~ 3/30/2011
Carefree will host the Easy Street Art Festival from 10 a.m. – 5
p.m. Friday through Sunday in downtown Carefree.
The new event will include an eclectic mix of artists, calypso music, wine tasting and food.
One of the festival’s featured artists is Bob Bonn, who is known for his colorful and sometimes humorous western art. He was selected for his well-known works, which represent the colorful funky identity that the event hopes to bring forth.
His acrylic paints exude his personality and humor. His works are full of characters of the Wild West, but perhaps one recurring element in his paintings are the grinning gatos (cats).
Bonn has created a number of public art commissions for the City of Laguna Beach. His large scale painted banners can be seen downtown during the summer season and are part of the City of Laguna Beach public art collection.
The show also will include Mark Phillips, “America’s Everyday Wine Guy,” with his humorous approach to wine consumers as well as the many boutiques, galleries and outdoor café’s that downtown Carefree offers.
Parking and admission to the event are free.
