Local DAR essay contest winners to present essays at April 8 meeting
ANTHEM – The winners of the Ocotillo Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution the chapter level DAR American History Essay Contest will present their winning essays at the next DAR meeting on Saturday, April 8.
Winners include sixth grader Jeanna Miracle from New River Elementary School, seventh grader Samuel Fankhauser from Diamond Canyon School, and eighth grader Anna Edwards from Ridgeline Academy. The essay theme is ‘Celebrating a Century, America’s National Parks.’ Each winner received a Bronze Medal, DAR Winner’s Certificate, and a gift card from Barnes & Noble. Winning essays have been sent to compete in the ASDAR state level.
The April 8 meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Room #435 at the Outlets at Anthem. Meetings are open to non-members.
