Musicfest continues youth events

The Arizona Musicfest Young Musicians events will continue into April with competitions and concerts.
The instrumental competition finals featuring soloists and ensembles from grades seven through twelve will take place at 2 p.m. April 5 at Desert hills Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale. The competition, sponsored by Patricia and Robert Goulstone, was established in 2002 to honor Chet and Ann Goldberg, two founding members of Arizona Musicfest. The judging panel will be composed of music professors and symphony musicians.
The public is welcome to attend free of charge.
Then on April 27, winners from the young musicians’ competitions of 2014—both vocal and instrumental—will be performing in concert at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.
Tickets to the 2 p.m. performance at MIM cost $25 and are available by calling 480-478-6000 or visiting www.themim.org online.
