13th annual Wickenburg Art Club Spring Fine Art Show

03/21/18

WICKENBURG – The Wickenburg Art Club will kick off its annual Spring Fine Art Show with an artists’ reception on March 25, at the Wickenburg Art Center, located at 188 S. Tegner Street.  The reception, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and is open to the public.

The Spring Fine Art Show runs from March 25 to April 8, and is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The juried exhibition will showcase two and three-dimensional artwork in a wide variety of media including oil, pastel, watercolor, photography, jewelry, wood and bronze.  With original art created by over 31 area and regional artists, there will be something for every art lover to enjoy.

The 2018 show will run concurrently with the first two weeks of “Cowgirl Up! Art from the Other Half of the West” an invitational exhibition and sale held each year at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum.

“This is the perfect time of year to come to Wickenburg. The weather is beautiful, and the art center is only a short walk from the museum,” said Michele Schuck, Chairman of the event.   “There will be fabulous art to view at both venues.”

This year’s judge is Linda Budge, a professional fine artist residing in Cave Creek, Arizona where her studio is based.  Inspired by her lifelong fascination with animals in their natural habitat, the majority of her oil paintings portray animals common to area in the Western United States.

Her uncanny ability to capture her subjects accurately helps explain why her work carries such emotional power.   She has won numerous awards for her work and her art can be found in national publications as well as the permanent collections of several, museums, corporations and libraries including the Reagan Library in Simi Valley.

The Wickenburg Art Club was founded in 1964 to promote the visual arts in Wickenburg and is a 501(C) 3 corporation.  For more information, visit the club’s website at wickenburgartclub.org or call 928-684-0483.  Information about “Cowgirl Up!” is available at westernmuseum.org or 928-684-2272.
