2018 Cave Creek Rodeo Days Queen and Teen Queen crowned

CAVE CREEK – The 41st annual Cave Creek Rodeo Days is upon us, and the 2018 Rodeo Royalty was officially crowned on March 10, during the pageant at Outlaws, where young woman participated in horsemanship, modeling, speech and interview competitions.
This year, 16-year-old Megan Alsever was crowned Queen of the Cave Creek Rodeo Days, her reign began during the parade on March 17, where she did the “royalty wave” while riding her horse alongside her sister and 13-year-old Teen Queen, Lilly Alsever.  Megan will serve as the official Queen of the rodeo for one year.
“It is a really big dream of mine to be queen with my sister,” said Megan. “It has taken a lot of support and help from our sponsors, family and friends, and a lot of sweat and tears.”
Megan will also compete in professional rodeo events and other activities throughout the southwest during her reign in 2018 as the official representative of the Cave Creek Rodeo.
“The title holder symbolizes the young women of the State of Arizona who desire to promote the sport of rodeo, and in so doing the Western way of life,” according to the official pageant rules.
Megan will ride in the grand entry of the professional rodeo events carrying flags at the first performance of this year’s rodeo on March 23, and will work with rodeo committees on other promotions throughout the year.
