Anthem Days celebration nears

Anthem invites everyone to experience Anthem Days, a two-day community festival set for 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., March 24 – 25. This family event, now in its 13th year, features a variety of family-fun, art, music, and food.
“Anthem Days is our longest running community event and everyone looks forward to it,” stated Michele DeMichele, Special Events Director for the Anthem Community Council. “With the event continually evolving, there’s such a variety of experiences for the entire family to enjoy.”  
 Activities scheduled for the weekend include:

  • Anthem Neighborhood Watch 911 Simulator and Child Fingerprinting
    The Anthem Neighborhood Watch will have a 911 simulator from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., on Saturday for kids to practice making life-saving calls. Child fingerprinting will be available on Sunday for parents to keep on file in case of emergency.
  • Arts and Crafts Fair, Business Expo
    Artisans and businesses will showcase their talents and wares in booths throughout the park. Guests can search for gifts or collectible, or speak to representatives from their favorite businesses.
  • Daisy Mountain Fire Department Demonstrations
    The Daisy Mountain Fire Department will showcase their extricating skills with demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as give tours of their fire engine and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) trailer.
  • Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt with Peter Cottontail and the Hippity Hop Band
    Peter Cottontail will mingle with children during the annual Eggstravaganza while they hunt for treat-filled eggs and dance to the bouncy beats of the Hippity Hop Band. The Eggstravaganza will take place at 11 a.m., Sunday at softball fields 1 and 4. A schedule of egg hunt age groups and times will be posted on closer to the date of the event.
  • Food Court, Rotary Beer Garden
    Various vendors will offer a selection of cuisine inside the food court and the Anthem Rotary will host a Beer Garden.
  • Frazier Shows Carnival
    Beginning March 23, Frazier Shows Carnival will start the weekend early with a myriad of carnival rides and games for everyone in the family to enjoy. The carnival runs from 5 - 9:00 p.m., Thursday, from 5 – 10 p.m. on Friday, from 1 – 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 – 5 p.m. on Sunday. All You Can Ride bracelets can be purchased for $15 and are valid during certain time periods each.
  • Live Musical Entertainment
    The stage inside the food court will be alive each day from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. with a variety of musical entertainment. The Rave will perform classic rock, soul, blues and country hits on Saturday, and the sounds of the Chris Putrino Band will be heard on Sunday. 
  • New and Improved Kid’s Zone
    Along with barrel and train rides, the Kid’s Zone will have inflatable bounce houses and slides. New this year is an inflatable obstacle course available each day, and a Human Hamster Ball or “Zorb” available on Sunday. Prices for each ride vary. Unlimited bounce bracelets will be available for $8 per day.
  • OSR Hoop Shoot Contest
    OSR Physical Therapy’s popular hoop shooting contest returns this year on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Basketball skills will be tested during the H.O.R.S.E. Tournament, Free-Throw Contest, Three-Point Shoot-Out and the Half-Court Shot Challenge.
  • Special Anthem Performance!
    A special performance will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Don’t miss this entertaining surprise which will definitely showcase Anthem’s community pride and fun spirit.
