PHOENIX – Mark your calendars for the Arizona Game and Fish Department Outdoor Expo, presented by Shikar Safari Club International. The expo will be held Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix. Admission and parking are free.
Activities for all ages are planned. Over 150 exhibitors will be on hand, including outdoor recreation and conservation groups, government agencies, and commercial vendors of outdoor products and services.
See all sorts of live wildlife, and check out the huge kids' fishing tanks. Practice target archery and try other shooting sports in a safe, supervised environment on the range.
Other activities include the cowboy mounted shooting competition, OHV and ATV exhibits, and field course hiking. Even kayaking will be featured at the "Lake Paddlemore" kayaking pond.
Food and beverage concessionaires will be on-site, as well as commercial vendors who will be selling outdoors-related goods or services. For those who want to try shooting sports, there is a nominal charge for ammunition at some of the target shooting venues.
Expo hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 29. The 2015 Outdoor Expo is located on Carefree Highway, about 1/2 mile west of I-17 in Phoenix.
