Rotary Club holding fundraiser for Soldier’s Best Friend
SCOTTSDALE – The Rotary Club of Scottsdale North is holding a fundraiser for Soldier’s Best Friend on Saturday, March 18, at Pinnacle Peak Village.
Fundraiser tickets are $40 per person. Event attendees will receive food and beverages, and get the chance to bid on silent and live auction items. ‘The Last Straw’ will provide live music at the event.
This fundraiser offers a way for participants to demonstrate support for both veterans and pets. Soldier’s Best Friend is an Arizona-based non-profit organization that provides U.S. military veterans who are living with combat-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with Service or Therapeutic Companion Dogs. Most of these dogs are rescued from local shelters. Training takes over six months and is offered in Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Prescott, and Sierra Vista. Veterans with a confirmed diagnosis of PTSD or TBI are welcome to apply for this program. See more information at https://soldiersbestfriend.org.
Per Soldier’s Best Friend web site, “The veteran and dog train together to build a trusting relationship that saves two lives at once, and inspires countless others.”
The Rotary Club of Scottsdale North’s fundraiser will help support this program. The event will run 5:30-8:30 p.m. on March 18.
