The Enclave retirement community on track for opening in July

ANTHEM – Construction on The Enclave at Anthem is coming along quickly, and the facility is on schedule to open in July. Apartment reservations are available now.

The retirement community is set on 6.4 acres on Venture Dr. The building will include 159 apartments: 81 independent living apartments, 54 assisted living apartments, and 24 memory care apartments. The building will be 40 percent community space, which includes a central dining room, wellness center, salon, theater room, and bistro.

A residential, home-like feel has been a focal aspect of the community design.

“We want this to feel like home,” Mike Longfellow, Spectrum Retirement Communities Senior Vice President of Construction and Development, said at a March 1 hard-hat tour of the community.

Longfellow described the various apartments as “a spectrum of spaces.” Residents will have options on whether they want to be close to the community rooms, such as in certain second-floor apartments, or if they’d rather be on the third floor, with only living spaces around them. All the units are private and have private bathrooms.

Emphasis on home-style surroundings is part of all the Spectrum Retirement communities.

Spectrum Retirement Communities, the parent company of The Enclave, uses the same contractor for all Phoenix-area communities’ construction, and Longfellow noted that the contractors “know Spectrum and know what we’re looking for.”

In keeping with the homelike atmosphere, The Enclave at Anthem has multiple fireplaces throughout, lots of natural light thanks to many well-placed windows, and simple design touches.

The Enclave at Anthem will be the fourth Spectrum community in the state. Three other new Spectrum communities are also under construction in Arizona.

Resident applications are now being accepted for the community; to learn more about making a reservation, call (623) 201-3161 or visit

“We’re excited to be open this summer,” Longfellow said.
