Food Pantry construction begins at St. Rose Parish

Staff Report~ 2/4/2015

ANTHEM – Construction is starting on the first Food Pantry in the Anthem area. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul St Rose/Good Shepherd/St Phillip Benizi Conference is constructing their new Food Pantry building on the St. Rose Parish campus. This Food Pantry will provide temporary emergency subsistence to families unable to reach Valley food banks.

The Food Pantry will serve people in need in Anthem, Tramonto, New River, Black Canyon City, Desert Hills, and other north Phoenix communities. Last year, they distributed 1,320 boxes of food to 2,248 people.

The Conference has been raising funds to get this Food Pantry project completed. St. Rose Vincentians have generously donated their own money and time. To earn funds for the construction and operation of their expanded Food Pantry, the St. Vincent de Paul Conference is staging the Second Annual 5K RUN/WALK by Friends of the Poor on Saturday, Feb. 21, beginning at 9 a.m. Register for the RUN/WALK at www.4peaksracing.com or see more details at www.stroseanthem.org.
